Ayup. Of course, you should test on a mailbox to ensure that it works exactly
the way you want...

And there it is :)

Just to be clear, I set this to look for ALL content, then this would run
against any folder OTHER than the default managed folders - including secondary
calednar, contacts, etc... If I set it for only Email, then it would run
against all other folders, but leave secondary calendars and contacts alone,
correct?

I then set a policy for each of the default folders, then assign it to
mailboxes, right?

Thanks for your help MBS!

You can use MRM for this. "All other folders". :)

Subject: 30 Day Retention

I've got a client on SBS 2008 (Exchange 2007) that is interested in
implementing a rather draconian (yet perfectly legal) retention policy.

They want to run something once per month that will delete ALL mail items from
ALL mailboxes (except two) older than 30 days. They want to keep calendar,
contacts, tasks and notes for any length of time.

I've thought about MRM managed folders, but then I would have to rely on users
to actually USE The managed folders. Any third party program or scripts out
there that can accomplish this?

Thanks!
