Singh is King has generated record box office collections,for
the year 2008.The Promo-material,to be circulated in Delhi/NCR,for top most
Bollywood productions,is often printed at my Labs.Now Salmaan Khan will be seen
as Sardarji in the film "HEROES",to be released,in Oct.'08.My Bollywood link
told me that there are atleast 3 more films,nearing completion,with stars like
Sanjay Dutt and Abhishek Bachhan,in lead roles,as Sikh gentlemen.There are
already more than a dozen hits featuring Sunny Deol,Bobby Deol,Sunil shetty,Big
B and now Akshay kumar,in which they appeared as turbaned Sikhs,in recent
years.I was curious to know,why the film director(producers) are becoming,more
& more, Sardar friendly..My friend explained me,any film,if seen by,atleast
0.5% of Indians,is considered as a hit.If there is a film,with a Sikh
character,in the lead role,it is bound to attract the Sikhs,Punjabis,North
Indians and other
star-fans,who are eager to see their favourites,as Sardarji.The end result
is,that otherwise an average film, turns into a great hit,overnight.It
seems,as if Indian movie lovers,are asking for Sardar attractions,along with
star attractions.
So guys,its not only SEX or SRK.that sells in Bollywood,but now there is a
third S too.
