I am very upset because of my health problem.Hydrocephelus
is effecting me in every way it can.It is effecting my memory,i get double
vision all the time,my digestive system is upset,my energy level is going
down,my neck and shoulders are stiff and so on.
The doctors here in Canada would not operate untill my CSF
totally stops draining.Their approach is
that if a person can survive(just be alive) without a surgery then they let
him survive because surgery is a surgery and it could
be life threatening.
Now,the best proven surgery is the one that i had in 1993 where they put a
shunt from my ventricles to my stomach
The problem is that this shunt has to be replaced every 8 to 10 years.
Today i was reading that there is a possibility of doing a surgery where
they would create a drainage at the bottom of the
third ventricle by going into the ventricle with a camera(like they do
endoscopy) and create a bypass.This is more permanent cure but
it is very risky and has very low success rate.It is a new concept or
technique of curing hydrocephelus.The good thing about it is that if it is
done then it is a permanent cure.
This is similar to how they do surgery for glaucoma with a laser( i mean the
concept or idea is similar).
Can both of you find out if there is any neurosurgeon in India who is
familiar with this and experienced in doing this.
Bindu's Chacha ji is in the same profession so i am sure he will have some
contacts.
