If you have a good team and have the intent, most often than not, you succeed. Manmohan Singh has no qualification or experience in the job he is doing but he chose some right people (like Montek) and he surely has the intent and he is doing fine. When it comes to choosing a guy who would run your country you only look at what the guy stands for and what he wants to do. The HOW will only happen once the opportunity is given. People are smart these days. They clearly understood what both gentlemen stood for and chose the person they thought would make their lives better. Every person has a different expectation .......... for a middle class working guy, taxes might be most important .......................... for a businessmen reforms, taxation, open policy might be very important. The fact that he won by one of the biggest majorities in the recent past proves that people could relate to this ideas. The key would be how and when would he implement the plans. I don't think it has anything to do with "Black Guy". Every American who was driving a gas guzzling SUV started feeling guilty for everything they had done. 2. By association, they figured they need to now re-invent the wheel. 3.In taking their obsession with Overdoing everything( yet again) , they go ahead and elect ( by a good majority) not only a Black guy, but also a guy who has absolutely no Qualification whatsoever to hold and manage the job but : a) A VERY VERY smart set of PR managers b) A name and a Race which invokes guilt in the "younger" "liberal" generation. c) An anti incumbency factor working overtime coz of yet another idiot preceding him d) An ageing and poor choice as an opponent.
