Bhaji,

Everything is "masala" today right from the news channel to newspapers.
She is no good or bad than others. Atleast she stood by her country.

Cheers,
Jatinder

exghps1988v_v Madhu Trehan episode

Hi Guys
Frankly speaking,at the first instance,I was impressed by
Madhu's article. After going through it twice and thrice,I find Madhu, more
or less,a 'masala' writer'.She is more inclined for giving, tit for
tat.Infact the views by some of our batchmates seem to be more
mature, realistic and practical. The real picture of any country (and
particularly India),can never be judged by such mundane examples and
references,you need a broader canvas.
On one hand India is said to be having a dynamic and vibrant
economy,on the other hand it has got max. no people living below the
poverty line.
India is a country, where people of all religions, faiths, languages, have
been living together from centuries, but we also witness communal riots,in
some or the other part of the country daily,on regular basis.
Indian brains are shaking the whole world and we still have low literacy
rate.
Though we claim to be self-sufficient in food grains, but still thousands
die cos of hunger and starvation.
India is considered as a land of oppertunities, and we have highest no. of
unemployed youth
in the world.
Though we boast a lot about our medical facilities, but we also have a very
high infant mortality rate.
India is seen as a strong emerging nation at the sporting arena too,but we
still have a long way to go.
We talk a lot about women empowerment, but are unable to control the
dowry-deaths and the female/male ratio.
I think Shelly rightly pointed that there are so many India's,co-existing.
It is certainly not India-bashing,to know you weaknesses and short
comings, and then honestly focus your self in eliminating them.
Regards
I.P.S.Munjal

It is bad to point out short comings of the other person/nation but if
someone tries to ridicule you or your nation, you need to put things in
the right perspective. This was not an article Madhu wrote about the US
but was responding to a letter she received. I think she was right in
what she did. Gone are those Gandian days when if someone slaps you, you
put the other cheek forward.

GOD bless India !!!!!

Cheers,
Jatinder

Bi-polar views. The reality lies in the fact that there are many India's
now. Pointing out what ails each society does not make the other better,
does it.
Pretty immature reply by Madhu Trehan , I think.
