This is exactly what I wrote to Tunnu & IP. Since Niri has commented on this issue, here is what I wrote to Tunnu & IP:

It has brought many fond memories and old friends together. For some, these friends have become more important than our existing friends. I for one meet IP and Herbie more often than I meet some of my other friends. I have not seen much personal chit-chat on the site. I think we should not put too many restrictions on people. This will discourage them from posting on the site. Most of the stuff posted on the site is for the group and when stuff is posted, people do comment on it. This is what a blog is. I think IP had earlier also suggested to people that in case they have challenges with official email id, they should create a personal ID and register the same. It is good that people are interacting and writing on the site. This keeps people active and allows many of us to be in touch. I don't think we get more than 15-20 postings per day (IP may have data) and even if we have to delete all, it takes less than a minute.
