We as the youngest religion could show the way!! I am not a very religious person as you know but whatever limited insight I have of our religion "our Guru's were against all these rituals....." Interesting observation not in this context but nevertheless one of my uncles once said"remove the Golak from the Gurdwara's and then let's c how keenly the Gurdwara elections are fought"

I attended a meeting, called by the Govt. on this subject, and also delivered a speech on this burning issue. The conclusion of the meeting was that there is no point blaiming any particular religion, group, party or community, but the Govt should be strong enough to put an end to all these gatherings, atleast from NCR. Our recommendations were: 1.All religious celebrations,to be restricted to religious places. 2.Political rallies etc. to be carried out only at Ram Leela Maidaan 3.Special allocation of a restricted area, for dharnas and pradarshans. The proposals are still lying sealed in Sheela's office,as Govt. is not willing to take PANGA in an election year. Yesterday I was stuck for almost two and half hours in Cp in a traffic jam caused due to Nagar Kirtan, this tradition might have been started when the traffic was not an issue in our cities but keeping in mind the hardships people face now I feel that shoudn't the Nagar Kirtans be organised on a Sunday or early hours of the day when the traffic is less so that lakhs of people are not effected. All I observed yesterday was people cursing the traffic jam and the reason for it which made me wonder what purpose do the nagar kirtans really serve now...I missed an important meeting and what if someone had an medical emergency ...??? or had a flight to catch . I Our Community is blessed with beautifull Gurdwara's with huge complex where we all celebrate our Gurupurabs....I feel we should restrict our celebrations there only ...just a thought I wanted to share......
