Here's the feedback from Canada:

The media has been covering the story very prominently with the PM giving a
statement today. There is actually top coverage almost every 5-10 minutes
on all news channels.

In terms of reaction from people:

People connected to the Indian roots are very much concerned,
angry and have been shaken, with most people blaming Bush policies that are
spreading hatred. The feeling is similar to having someone in your own
family being attacked.

Intelligence should have been stronger, why was there a need for
the top chiefs of ATS, etc to go out in the front and lay their lives
without analyzing the depth of the situation

Goras heard the story, felt sympathetic and moved on with life. I
guess we would probably have the same reaction, if this was an incident in
Africa , Egypt etc.

The one common string is that everyone feels that this madness has got to
end and 100% force is probably not the solution.

Take care all

It took the govt 3 hours to approve the NSG deployment???, Wht the hell
were they thinking . In USA or UK they would hve scrambled in an hour of the

We are far away from an utopian society. That "responsible" society does not
exist. Given that things are the way they are, if you were an elected
representative( like Mr. GB Bush was...) ..what would you answer to the
nation at this hour, Mr. Munjal. What would you be doing?
herbie's donned the cowboy hat and he's ready to shoot from the hip( dude,
have the martinis before u start doin it ;)
