Why not let the user (admin) choose between a warning and error condition in case of empty directories? Of course this cannot be directly applied to non-interactive clients. So what about to save the pre-installation-anything-else-ready state and to refuse to install the image without changing the option mentioned beforehand? > Warnings and espam don't fix the problem. But they give the admin the opportunity to think before destroying the work of hours. In case the admin doesn't there's no chance at all to constuct a well working repository management system.
