In the hopefully not too distant future I intend to remove the following
packages from the system set:
sys-devel/autoconf
sys-devel/automake
sys-devel/bison
sys-devel/flex
sys-devel/m4
The rationale is that these packages are purely build dependencies for
all packages in system and very few
packages need them at run-time. Hence a system that doesn't build
packages locally should be able to do
without them.
It will obviously require that all dependencies upon these packages get
stated explicitly which is why I
won't remove them right away.
