yo!

distfiles.exherbo.org currently has a 100GB virtual disk mounted and
used to store all the distfiles. This has almost run full, and it is
time to do something.

Since we have (almost) never removed any of the files, there are now a
lot of "unused" files, meaning files no longer referenced by any
existing exheres. In theory I could just keep increasing the storage
for distfiles.exherbo.org, but I also need the storage for other
things and having the unused files alongside the used ones creates
overhead if we want additional mirrors.

I've made a small script that moves all such unused files to
distfiles/unused/ , so currently they are all still online.

My current plan is to make this script run every day, and make sure
there is at least x GB of free space to download new distfiles by
taking the oldest unused files offline. I have no better idea than
simply putting those files on some offline storage.

I would like some input for this, at least if this could be a problem
somehow. Also if you have any other ideas as to how to handle this.

Another goal of this is to make it possible to have mirrors of
distfiles.exherbo.org, at least one since we really have no backup
atm.
