http://bugs.exim.org/show_bug.cgi?id=621 Summary: hostnames with trailing blanks should be handled differently Product: Exim Version: 4.68 Platform: x86 URL: http://bugs.debian.org/446161 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: wishlist Priority: low Component: String expansion AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] CC: [email protected] Hi, if for some reason, the system host name contains strange characters (such as trailing blanks), exim takes them verbatim, which results in these strange characters ending up in, for example, mail file names in a Maildir. I do not have a clue about which characters are allowed in a Unix hostname, but maybe it would be a good idea for exim to do at least basic sanitazion of the host name before using it.
