That will leave you without the fixed tr(1) first in the $PATH. Although it looks like that's less relevant with Tony's change to use the redundant square brackets. I've applied a change which tries to fix $PATH and other environment first, and then does a look for a better choice of shell. Dash first (non-interactive, after all) then bash.
