I'm officially announcing that Monday May 26 will be the release of the first RC for exim 4.83 and the codebase will go into feature freeze until the final release. This gives devs 13 days from now to get new features merged in. After Sunday May 25, no new features will be accepted but bugfixes will still be accepted. Since the build farm is up and running (albeit mostly on various linuxes), the expectation is for a short release cycle of 2 or 3 weeks.
We do ask that if you have the ability to please download and at least build a copy of Exim with your normal settings to make sure that it builds without complaint. If you can test it, that is even better. Devs, if you have any outstanding bug entries, please push over the next two weeks to try and get as many of them knocked out as you can. ...Todd -- The total budget at all receivers for solving senders' problems is $0.
