It doesn't - and it happily sends and receives from IPv6 hosts in general. Thus
my bug report. However, I tend to blame my local gethostbyname() or something
along those lines (?). Since all this occurs even without the "middle man",
something is clearly fishy on my end.

I'll thus close this report for now - and thank you for the time you've spend
on this already. I'll see what I can find out and if something points at Exim,
I'll re-open this.
