Anyway clamav is quite good for virus scanning, as it f-prot and Kapersky. I also like Sophos.
As for alternative glues, I use MailScanner to great effect and mimedefang provides a good vervice if you really want to get your hands dirty and do alot of the glueing yourself (from what I understand).
