ok, you're right ... you just never know =)
I suppose a lot depends on your confort level. Larger sites that
may have more resources for maintaining dovecot themselves are likely
to be in the best shape in case.

tho i'm less interested in support for setup/maitenance ... which one can find
'elsewhere' as well.
rather, the find/fix a bug cycle ... especially for those of us that build on
(gasp!) "other" platforms like OSX ;-)
that's one of the arguments FOR, e.g., cyrus (even tho, *i* can't seem to
get answers out of them ... sigh ... i'm so difficult to get along with ...
;-))
Heck, even an answer you don't like would be better than
no answer...
