case sensitive HFS+ was also possible on 10.3, on the server version
and on the client version after editing a plist whose location I do
not remember.. (there was a thread on the OmniGroup macosx admin
list). There is also UFS.
You are absolutely correct that most people still run case
insensitive HFS.
