The only problem would be if someone sent legitimate email to a few
accounts, but included one of your dead accounts in the message.
So, for example, if one of your ex-staff were still subscribed to an
important mailing list, all the remaining staff would cease to get email
from that list. And nobody would get any notifications, because you can't
reject or bounce the messages.
