There were already lots of discussion about this topic in the past. The bottom line is: If it's not guaranteed that your IP address will never be assigned to somebody else (as with most dialin/DSL services), you _will_ lose mail (or worse) eventually and you will not even notice it. If that's ok for you, fine, but you should not fool yourself about that. (well, even than it's your own problem...)
