Thank your very much for this info, it's pointed me in the right direction.

I have a question tho, what is the time delay in it tring to send the e-mails to the Primary MX? is there a command i can setup in cron to force it to every 5 min?

Regards

for all the domains listed in the SQL db and store them locally - Then try and send them to the main server when it comes back up

Just set it up almost like the first, but take care that you do not set
the domains as local domains. And check if you've a router (normal
dnslookup-router will do) for (automatically) routing the domains to
your primary MX.

And of course, your ACL config should allow to relay to your domains.

If you've the example.conf that comes along with exim, check the domain
lists

    local_domains (almost empty)
    relay_to_domains (could contain e.g. @mx_secondary or some
                         database query)

And of course do not forget to insert your new MX as MX in the
DNS zones.

(And take care that your ACL/Spam/whatever policy on your secondary is
not worse than on the primary, as spammers often try to reach you using
your secondary.)
