That's a good thing. Their specific implementation did not work well, and caused a lot of failures and needless delays for legitimate correctly working mail. We have a few newsletters with 100K+ subscribers, and verizon had the worst delivery time and success rate of all the major US ISP's back when I was tracking it last year.
