Greetings -

Back in April someone asked whether it was possible to get a "Mailbox
is full" informative text included in delivery failure notifications
when system quotas were in use, as it does when Exim-imposed quotas
are used.

Philip replied that there had been a problem with system-imposed
quotas not generating such information in the notifications, but it
was fixed in Exim 4.67:

     http://lists.exim.org/lurker/message/
20070403.112754.e08c0731.en.html

However I'm still not seeing them...

I'm using Exim to deliver incoming messages into Maildir-format
mailboxes. Quotas are imposed by the operating system (Solaris) and
the mailstore is NFS-mounted from a NetApp filer.

When delivery is attempted for a user whose mailbox is full the logs
show this for each attempt made:

2007-08-08 11:51:06 1IIj7o-0001HT-FE ==
[EMAIL PROTECTED] R=localuser T=local_maildir_delivery
defer (49): Disc quota exceeded: failed to open tmp/
1186570266.H724716P4929.ums10.york.ac.uk (10 tries)

At the final attempt the logs show this:

2007-08-08 11:58:24 1IIj7o-0001HT-FE ==
[EMAIL PROTECTED] R=localuser T=local_maildir_delivery
defer (49): Disc quota exceeded: failed to open tmp/

The delivery failure notification received also says:

     A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of
its
     recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es)
failed:

       [EMAIL PROTECTED]
         retry timeout exceeded

As you can see, it says the problem was "retry timeout exceeded"
rather than "Mailbox is full".

Does this mean that Exim 4.67 still doesn't say "Mailbox is full"
when system quotas are being used? (Is anyone else seeing this
problem, or are you getting "Mailbox is full" in your notifications?)

Cheers,
Mike B-)
