The double-dots OR the mixed-case may not be your problem.

Most of my servers would silently blackhole on the 'embedded image' .gifs as a 
sure-fire rude arrival.

Try sending yourself a 7-bit plain-text message over verizon.net w/o the 
idiot-bait and see if they pass that.
