Thanks, I deleted /var/spool/exim4/db/retry which worked.
I tested how things would work if assp can't reach it's smarthost, with
this result:

2008-01-18 14:01:54 1JFzHe-0002uh-UP Remote host 127.0.0.1 [127.0.0.1]
closed connection in response to initial connection
2008-01-18 14:01:54 1JFzHe-0002uh-UP == [EMAIL PROTECTED] R=smarthost
T=remote_smtp_smarthost defer (-18): Remote host 127.0.0.1 [127.0.0.1]
closed connection in response to initial connection

I am correct into thinking that once assp can reach its smarthost this
will resolve itself and the email will be sent? And in the other
example, if I hadn't deleted the retry file delivery eventually would
happen?

Thanks,
Jeroen
