"error ... after initial connection:".

The signing happens inline (which is why it's hard for there to be a
race-condition).  Exim didn't get as far as signing the message because
the connection was rejected before it could try.

Yahoo.com is temp-failing your IP.

When you did get to send the message, it was signed.
