On the first view I do not see any relation between this problem and the
redirection, since the delivery to the final destination should be an
other process than the receiving process, thus there *should* be no
relation and no possibility of some bug. (Should. Because I'm not really
sure if *my* imagination about how exim works is true.)

Thinking a bit more … is there any chance, that the exchange „thinks“,
that the (your) certificate should be somehow related to the sender (domain)?
