Folks,
Apologies - I did something experimental with my Exim configuration and
apparently rejected quite a few legitimate messages
The still-to-be-investigated part is that what was causing rejection was
an 'accept' clause with an 'endpass'.
Go figure.
UPDATE;
*sigh*

Regardless of intent, it HELPS if comment-lines begin with ...
an octothorpe ('#')
..so as not to encourgae Exim to try to execute them...
