This is what I found on Ubuntu 12.04
Exim version 4.76 #1 built 25-Oct-2012 14:24:14
I am looking for a clean way to disable TLS, rather than commenting all
instances out on my exim4.conf. I ran across some posts indicating it
could be done via exim4.conf.template, but I'm not clear if that really
works.

I did try a quick Google search to find which version of Exim is
included with Ubuntu by default, but there were no relevant results

others, it's not long-term beneficial to reward missing information by
doing a lot of work for free to make up for it.
For your list:
exim-4.76-2.fc15.1.i686
exim-4.76-4.fc16.2.i686+x86_64
exim-4.76-9.fc17.i686
Somehow Fedora ist stuck with 4.76 :)
