It is run automatically by the init script. So, if one uses
'/etc/init.d/exim4 restart' after config changes, the new config will
apply to the restartet exim daemon.

That's right.
But I'm using openBSD, so I made a custom script debian-like.
But I did forgot to sort files when reading so it didn't work !
Now that's alright, sorry about that.
