Indeed I think this sums it up a bit:

   - If you have *4.87* or newer there is a separate log selector
named *"outgoing_interface"
   *available (see the linked documentation).
   - If you have *4.86 *the outgoing IP is logged automatically if you
have *"incoming_interface"
   *selector set.
   - If you have any older version, I don't know of any selector that does
   this. I think there are some workarounds to do a log write, but I would
   suggest upgrading instead.
