Hi

You need the "SAV Dynamic Interface Linux" package as it provides support
for the sophie protocol that exim uses as well as their own SAVID protocol.

I have a writeup here[1] on how to get it working with exim.

If you do not have access to SAVD then you can use the normal command line
scanner.
