Serge Raynaud de la Ferrière (born 18 January 1916 in Paris) is a
French astrologer.

Ferrière was the founder and first of the Universal Great Brotherhood
in Caracas, Venezuela on January 18, 1948.

During World War II Ferrière's astrological predictions were
published by several magazines and newspapers. In 1947 he established
the World Cosmobiology Society, using the term with a wider and
different meaning than the original concept from the Hamburg School
of Astrology. That same year he had an encounter with his Master
S.W.K. who sent him to South America on a worldwide trip that took
him to Australia. After his return to Europe in 1953, he lived at
Nice, France, and finished several writings The 7 Great Messages, The
36 Psychological Purposes, The 52 Booklets on the Magic of Wisdom,
The 62 Letters, The Black Book on Freemasonry, amongst others.

27 December 1962 (his Maha Samadhi's date) looked like the opening of
a real New Age to his disciples, followers and readers. He quotes the
relevance of Astrology as a path for Self Realization and the core of
Initiatic Tradition rather than an instrument or technic for
devination and forecasting (in despite of his claimed achievements in
this field). At the same time, he emphasizes the importance of a
method of self-control to escape from the cosmic and planetary
influences.
