I'm not working for an NGO, but I'd say you'd need a minimum of $2500. If
you want to live comfortably you should have anywhere between $3500 and 5000
(or more of course). Its an expensive city. Of course you can live with 1500
as well, but not on Western standards. That would mean living with a
room-mate or far from the Moscow center and not going to the (expensive)
supermarkets, which have Western products and of course no parties in the
cities posh clubs

Subject: Expat List  NGO market

Just out of curiosity, does anyone on this list work in an NGO or IO in
Moscow? 
 
I'm just curious what it would take to break into that market in Moscow and
have a living-wage salary as a foreigner.  That is, something that I could
pay my bills on:  not fabulously wealthy nor starving poor.
