If you are looking for advice, search through earlier posts on
apartment renting in Moscow...

You may be able to find a decent 2 room for $1500, but not 3 room.

To avoid agents, you should be very lucky as apartment owners do not
pay any commissions to agents, so they do not care that you have
to pay triple price (first month, deposit and commission) when you
move in.

Try starting from www.cian.ru it is possible to define a search
criteria there based on the price and metro stations, you will get
email updates with latest offers.
