Hi, If you are not otherwise engaged on the evening of Thursday, December 6, come and check out my appearance as a DJ in the restaurant upstairs at the Ikra club. Admission is absolutely free and my set is part of ongoing program called Radio Ikra, where various local journalists and other assorted eccentrics are invited to play their favorite tunes for a few hours on Thursday nights.
It'll be a really special day for me for several reasons. For one, it's my birthday and I turn 36. For another, it's Finnish Independence Day and to celebrate, I'm going to work in a little bit of music from contemporary Finnish artists into the set, seeing as Ikra has a general affinity for modern Finnish music. I'll be playing an eclectic mix of mostly rhythmic alternative music from various eras, including that of a number of artists that have appeared live at Ikra and some cuts from artists I wouldn't mind seeing there live. Call it my tribute to Ikra, which a number of luminaries have consistently rated as the best live club in Moscow. For those of you that know me, it'll be a good chance to see me again. For those who don't, it'll be a good chance to see for the first time. It should be a good opportunity for everyone to unwind a bit - most of the workweek will be over and there'll be a chance to socialize while listening to some good vibrations. Kirill.
