SOW market studies for Russia
The contractor shall provide a report on the
market conditions in Russia for (1) fresh strawberries, watermelons, melons,
onions and tomatoes; (2) tomato and watermelon juice and (3) canned tomatoes
that include the information and any other information that the contractor
deems useful to profitable export by CUSTOMER to the market.
Requirements:
Fresh market for all products, juice (tomato
and watermelon) and canned tomato
Distribution channel for imports of the products
of interest or like products:
Competitors (other exporters to target market
with products): sources of supplies of products to importers, volume, quality
of product, prices, names of large suppliers and contact information.
Importers, brokers
Wholesalers/distributors, including wholesale
or auction markets
Retailers in major cities (supermarket chains)
Major players in each tier: their customers,
products moved, from whence and how do they source product, contact information.
Final consumer requirements: varieties that
sell best, quality expectations, size preferences, and prices at retail
level; trends in supermarket sales
Prices
Prices paid for imports: cif (cost, insurance
and freight) or FOB port of arrival, exw (packing house) or daf (delivered
at frontier) or a near proxy
Three-year price study to determine price
seasonality
Average total annual volume, three year trend
in volume and value of imports of product
Box/packaging materials required: specifications,
if available
Sources of freight forwarding and transportation
services; cost of transport in country
Regulatory environment for imports: food
safety, product quality, labeling and phytosanitary
Obstacles to delivery to customer: custom
tariffs, official fees, extra-official fees, potential losses of shipment
(search and seizure)?
