My company has told me "This rule is applied to visas received after the law
was enforced. If visa was received before October 4th, 2007 this periods are
not applied."

So according to that statement it should be ok. It should start when you get
your new Visa.

But I'm not a russian lawyer....

Subject: Expat List Business Visas

Has anyone heard how the 1-year Business Visas issued before October will be
handled by Russian immigration officials? Will they be "grandfather-ed" in or
not? Mine was issued in August and I've been here since then (i.e. over 90
days), but my business visa does not have the limitation at the bottom that
business visas issued after mid-October have, i.e. "valid 90 out of 180 days".

So, when I go out for New Years and come back in January will they refuse me
entry?
