My landlord just called and said she will raise the rent by 33% or even more
from 30,000 to 40,000 or more for a 2 room apartment. She said this is the
normal rate. I live in Kolomeskaya area, it is just outside the 3rd ring.
Granted I live right next to the metro, but is this a fair rate increase?
ANy ideas, feedback?

Normal these days. two room at 40,000 is probably normal in that area if it
has reasonable remont. You're lucky she does not raise it to 50,000! Difficult
situation but I've heard many such stories recently.
