They need to register within 3 days (business days) of arrival. This is
really important.

If you are a visa holder (not a resident), only your landlord can register
them. Otherwise, they need to stay in a hotel to get registered.

They need to register within three days of arrival into the Russian Fed.
(this first registration is the most important of all) and then register in
any city they stay for three days or more.

Subject: Expat List Registering visas on arrival

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can help. I'm a British Citizen currently working in
Moscow. I have British family who would like to come out and visit for a
week before heading for a week's vacation in St Petersburg.

Do they have to stay in hotels to get their visas registered or is there any
way they can stay at my home? Also, do they have to register their visas in
each city?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks
Zoe
