Of course the legalities all revolve around the Digital Millennium Copyright
Act (DMCA) which is a US law. There maybe Russian law concerning this but
I'd be surprised, protecting intellectual property still seems to be in its
early stages of legislation, if my experience of internet related issues is
anything to go by.

I did notice the government was considering making users register any WiFi
device (!) which might have an effect on cracked iPhones you set up.
Hopefully that will never be enforced.
