Sounds mad to me. Go to see Giovani who owns the American Russians Dental
Centre - he's pretty good. Mr Kim, one of the other dentists, is absolutely
superb. Giovani does tend to like to take wisdom teeth out when they aren't
causing any problems but they say that many top dentists do the same so who
knows!!??

US Dental Care are a big rip off and so many people I know have had serious
problems usually related to money. The last case was of someone getting work
done just so they could bill the insurance company more money. Rip off.

Regards,

Nick

Subject: Expat List looking for an orthodontist in Moscow

Just moved to Moscow, and my wife need a good orthodontist, she is halfway
through a 2-year treatment. Went to US dental care on Bolshaya Dmitrovka, and
they will take over her treatment - for ONLY a meagre 38,500 ruble "transfer"
fee!! What the #...@?? They want us to hand over this non-refundable stash up
front, and then begin paying monthly for the regular visits. Does this sound
right? Does anyone else have any experience with transferring a family
member's orthodontic treatment to Moscow, and being hit up front for an
exorbitant "transfer fee"?
Can someone please tell me if this is reasonable, if I should stop whining and
pay- or if I should start looking for another orthodontist in the city? Can
someone send me some referrals?
Grateful in Advance....Doug
