To all who have responded to my posting, Thanks for letting me know that a 20 percent commission is unheard of.
I can see now that the original information I received was highly exaggerated. Commissions are between 4 and 8 percent ( depending on how fast the realtor sells the apartment). Nevertheless, these rates are still MUCH higher than in many CIS countries, Europe and America.
