Hi Lucia and everybody else, Registration was always a problem for me.
My landlady was willing, but she lives in the U.S. and would visit Russia at off times when I would already be registered. The last few times, I've used Go to Russia. They've been pretty good for registering visas which aren't done through them. They say as long as you don't have a work visa (with purpose of trip marked as rabota po naymu), they can register you. Last couple of times, it cost 1800 rubles. But don't take my word for it -- get current info straight from the horse's mouth: http://www.gotorussia.com/about_us_directions.htm All ze best, Kirill.
