Hi All,

I am under the impression that customs allows for two liters of vodka (alcohol)
per person to be taken out of Russia.  Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks,

Liz

Hi Sveta - I've bought books from Amazon.com twice over the past 3 months.
The first order arrived piece by piece within a week and the second one got
here in a single package in literally a few days (ordered over the weekend
and had it by Friday). Judging by the other responses, I may have lucked out
both times. The shipping costs are pretty hefty though - up to 30-50% of the
value of the books, in my case.

Alex

There is an English only bookshop at mayakovskaya- Angliya (www.anglophile.ru
) and a fantastic store at Chistiye Prudy (www.bookhunter.ru) This one
is particularly good as it retails books at the price they are in the
UK- no mark up!!

Sveta,

The BEST place to buy an English, French, Spanish, German and other European
language book at the lowest price is Britannia Book ( www.britannia-elt.ru )
store just across the street from the Five Star Cinema at Metro
Pavelevskaya. They have a huge inventory both in-store, online, and in their
warehouse..

All the major English Teaching companies end-up buying all their teaching
and regular reading books there. You can use my English Teacher's discount
name and number to get a 15-25% discount. I am listed as ( п■п╬п╩ -21135 ).
Anyone else may also take advantage of my discount. No one will question you
about it. If you or anyone have any problem call me immediately and I will
confirm anyone as a current client.

If you like any book at Biblio-Globus (very expensive) or Moskva (moderately
expensive) at 8 Tverskaya call Britannia for their price. Even without my
teacher discount they should be cheaper for the same book. The reason -
lower overhead and huge off-site warehouse.

Happy St. Patrick's week to everyone. Hope to see you out there on the
parade route this Sunday around noon.  Remember, everyone is Irish on St.
Patrick's Day and during its parade.

A Leprechaun law: "The brighter the green you wear the luckier you become".

Note: My book discount offer has no time limit.

May the Luck of the Irish be with ya always <!:).

Svieta,

By far the best place for English language books is the shop called
'Bookhunter" close to Chisty Prudi. http://bookhunter.ru/

Excellent selection, regularly updated, prices in roubles almost exactly the
same as the USD or GBP price shown on the books. They will order for you
whatever you want. Nice people as well. Strongly recommended. If you buy a
lot regularly (like me) you will probably be offered, without even asking, a
5% discount. You can easily park nearby as well.
