Dear Expats,

Do you love to sing? Have you sung in choral groups in the past or
played a musical instrument? Would you like to make music a part of
your life in Moscow?

If so, join the Moscow Oratorio Society! We are seeking all voice
parts for our December Holiday Concert.

The Moscow Oratorio Society, founded in 1993, is Moscow’s oldest
international choir. We present rarely performed classical works as
well as popular music creatively arranged by talented young Moscow
composers. Even though we are amateurs with varying levels of
experience, with the support of our Moscow Conservatory trained
artistic director Alexander Tsaliuk and a few other professional
choristers, we strive for – and usually achieve! – a semi-professional
sound. Our performances are unique, large-scale productions, often
accompanied by a full orchestra.

Through the choir, expats and Russians have the opportunity to get to
know each other and share and learn a lot about Russian culture.
Stressed professional workers say they enjoy exercising the other half
of their brain with a rigorous Wednesday night practice. In addition
to rehearsals, the choir also organizes a range of social events.

Ideally we are looking for singers with previous choral or orchestral
experience who have a desire to continue creating beautiful music.
Everyone is welcome to attend rehearsals, but those without the
ability to read music often find themselves devoting hours to the
music outside of rehearsals.

Rehearsals began last week, but we are still looking for members! If
you would like to join the choir, please contact Carol at
[email protected] or show up at the Maimonides Academy this
Wednesday at 6:30 pm. More detailed information can also be found at
http://www.moscoworatorio.com/

To get to Maimonides Academy, ulitsa Sadovnicheskaya 52/45, from metro
Novokuznetskaya, take the only exit. Once you exit the metro, walk
left (slightly around the metro building) to the tram tracks. At the
tram tracks, take a left a walk along them until ulitsa
Sadovnicheskaya. You will walk a few blocks and cross the river.
Sadovnicheskaya will be the second right after the bridge. Take a
right on Sadovnicheskaya. Maimonides Academy will be on your right
after a short walk. The entrance is through a black gate.
