Hi, expatniki! Spring is on our Moscow doorstep, and that means: It's a great time to adopt a puppy!
Last fall an irresponsible dog owner apparently let her dog have a dacha fling, and then - even more irresponsibly - put 8 one-month-old puppies out on the street in a box. A friend of mine who does volunteer work at a dog shelter took them in, gave them their shots, fed them, and has started to housebreak them, teach them basic commands, and get them used to walking on a leash. They are very healthy, loving, sweet pups. She still hasn't found homes for two males and five females. One is a big guy - looks a bit like a German Shepherd - but the others look like they will be medium-sized dogs. If you've been thinking about getting a dog, please consider one of these little guys!
