Hello expats and friends of expats still in Moscow.

I am doing my seasonal donation request for any repairable or parts-only
Apple or brand-name PC laptop and desktop computers that are lying around
gathering dust. The reconditioned computers will go to Russian children,
adults and invalid members of my church, St. Ekaterina, at M. Polyanka.
St. Ekaterina is the only Russian Orthodox church I know that has regular
English language religious services on Sunday.

It usually takes at least two computers of a similar model to reconstruct a
working laptop or desktop computer. Any and all models are welcomed. I'll
let the repair guy figure out what is/is not salvageable.

I do this because a retired computer programmer, widow pensioneer went
alcoholic from boredom when she retired and died less than a year
after retiring. She asked all her neighbors if anyone had a old used
computer she could use to connect to the Internet (which she got free
with her cable TV) but no one did. At the time we only had one laptop
at home. I don't know if having a computer and Internet access would
have helped her but I want to be ready for the next person who asks
for similar help.

Obviously, I will pick up your donated computer(s) at your convenience.

Thank you in advance for your generosity

Best regards,
George Dole
