your card is not managed directly by your window-manager, but by
XFree86, which is a Unix software componant called "X server"

There have been a few problems but it should work. Try to reconfigure
your X server with Xconfigurator or xf86config. If it doesn't work,
http://www.xfree86.org/ should tell you which X server is required by
your card :-)
