Hi, all i spent 4 hrs yesterday trying to get Gnome installed on my Redhat 5.2 system. I got so many errors and dependancy errors I nearly gave up. buuuut, Instead of getting mad, I made an installer script which automates the install of Gnome on a system (Redhat 5.2 or better, or any other system which can use RPM's, I imagine) i have used it on my system and I can verify it installs everything, skips already installed packages and beats the hell out of typing everything and fighting with KRPM (which I was using before) anyone interested to check it out and tell me what you think? It's an extremely simple script, but will save quite a bit of hassle in installing Gnome. So..... if you're thinking about installing Gnome, or are in the middle of it and need a helping hand to finish it up, just give me a holler and i will foward it to you. thanks! giles P.S.!!! I'm NOT a super-Linux/Gnome/X superwizard, just like to tinker. if you do run into issues, i cannot promise I can fix them, but i can try. thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from this mailing list, or to change your subscription to digest, go to the ONElist web site, at http://www.onelist.com and select the Member Center link from the menu bar on the left. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Titanic 12 ...
